About Ali
Ali Haigh is a contemporary Australian printmaker and designer whose work is deeply inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings. Using design and print, Ali transforms unique natural forms like the boxfish and the banksia into striking designs that elevate the everyday.
Beyond her personal artistic practice, Ali is deeply committed to community engagement. She has facilitated major community art projects in public buildings, bringing people together to create collective artworks that celebrate their shared environment.
Through workshops, Ali empowers others to explore their own creativity, encouraging them to see the beauty in the world around them and express it in their own unique ways.
Collaborations
Ali’s love of collaboration with both people and place has led to many exciting opportunities in her career.
A highlight in 2021 was her appointment as the Arts Coordinator for Stage 1 of the First Steps Count Child and Community Centre in Taree. Ali designed and cordinated the artistic component for the centre, working closely with Austin Mcfarland Architects, Duber Constructions, and the FSC Board.
The vision for the centre was “Many hands build, create and unite”. Ali engaged artists and community groups from First Nations and diverse backgrounds to create designs to connect and encourage families to engage, socialise and share the built and natural environments… read more about Ali’s collaborations in Creative Projects
